Soeur Marte

So many of my memories are full of Soeur Marte. The strongest memory is the trips to her house for coffee. Usually Haitian coffee is served in a demi-tasse cup (about a quarter of a cup or less in a serving). It is strong and very sweet. At Soeur Marte's house, we got a WHOLE big cup of coffee for ourselves!!

I always thought I was "sneaking" out to her house for a treat, but we all know that our parents knew where we were. But it was fun to feel "grown up" enough for the big cup of coffee. :0)
