Rosita is firmly imbedded in my memories of life in Haiti. I can picture her in each of our kitchens in Port-au-Prince (only two :0}). I remember her letting me "help" with certain things or just letting me watch her cook.
While in college, when I returned home for vacations, I would talk with her about life at college and how much I missed her cooking! We would joke about what I would do when I had to go back to school and not be able to eat "the good stuff". We laughed at my attempts to cook Haitian food myself (have you ever tried making Banan Peze!).
The last time I was home (Aug. 2008) we talked about life, men and waiting for a strong, godly man like Dad. Rosita has a beautiful smile that lights up her face. She has a wonderful family: Her husband, Lamour, Rose Dani, Bruner and Rodney.
I remember her wedding. Not much more than it was the first one I remember and that it was hot and dark in the church. But I love knowing we were there for that special day. I remember when we found out she was pregnant with Rose Dani and Bruner and remember when Rose Dani came to say that Rodney was coming and asking Dad to take her to the hospital!
Rosita is so much a part of my family and I love her dearly.
